On Being a Different Kind of Leader

See Hear Love was a dream in the making just a few years ago, and it has been so good to watch my friend Melinda build a place for women to know that they are seen, have their stories heard, and to be reminded how very loved they are. You can watch online or on YES TV! I’m so grateful that Melinda invited me to join her on the couch as she launched her fourth season of See Hear Love earlier this fall!

Melinda and her co-hosts talked with me about what it means to be a leader – and, beyond that, a different kind of leader as a woman in this generation. I’ve learned a lot about this over the past two decades, and had a great deal of experience in a different kind of leadership, especially in the past ten years. It was fun to share – and we could have talked for a lot of hours about this huge topic! Watch my interview with the ladies of See Hear Love, below.

So, what do you think it takes to be a different kind of leader?

P.S. To me, being a different kind of leader means taking the time to look behind you and mentor the next generation of leaders. I know, I know… easier said than done. But it’s time that we, as Canadian female leaders rise up to the challenge of being a mentor to another who is craving connection, wisdom and guidance.
